The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) announced it will provide ₱400,000 in financial assistance to the families of each passenger who died in the recent multi-vehicle crash along the Subic–Clark–Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx).
LTFRB Chair Teofilo Guadiz III said the Passenger Accident Management & Insurance Agency (PAMI) has been instructed to begin identifying the deceased and facilitate the compensation process.
The crash, which occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Labor Day, involved a passenger bus that collided with a stationary SUV, triggering a chain reaction involving several vehicles.
The incident resulted in 10 deaths and injured at least 37 others.
In response, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has suspended the operations of Solid North Bus Transit Inc., the bus operator involved.
