Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic will miss Saturday’s NBA game against the Golden State Warriors due to a hamstring strain, with no timetable provided for his return.
He left Thursday’s win over the Philadelphia 76ers after grabbing the back of his left thigh following contact with a defender.
Lakers coach JJ Redick said an MRI would be conducted and expressed optimism that the injury is not serious, though Doncic is officially listed as “out” for the upcoming game.
Doncic leads the league with 33.4 points per game and ranks second in assists with 8.7, making his absence a significant loss for the team.
Guard Austin Reaves called him the team’s “engine” and expressed hope for a positive update on his condition.
