Three lawmakers have officially joined the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD), increasing the party’s membership in the House of Representatives to 109.
Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, the party’s president, administered the oath of membership to Zamboanga del Sur 2nd District Rep. Victoria Yu, Iloilo 5th District Rep. Raul Tupas, and Bukidnon 1st District Rep. Jose Manuel Alba on Monday.
Former lawmaker and La Paz, Abra Mayor JB Bernos also took the oath on the same day.
Romualdez noted that this expansion enhances support in Congress and the grassroots for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his programs.
Lakas-CMD is currently the largest political party in the House and an ally of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.
