President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. swore in Jose Francisco Benitez as the new Director General of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) during a ceremony at Malacañan Palace.
Marcos expressed confidence that Benitez, who has a strong background in education and public service, will effectively lead TESDA and enhance the technical skills and training of the Filipino workforce.
Benitez, a former Negros Occidental Third District representative and chair of the House Committee on Housing and Urban Development, replaces Suharto Mangudadatu, who resigned to prepare for the 2025 local elections.
Benitez is known for his advocacy for balancing social equity, economic growth, and ecological sustainability through his legislative work.
Marcos emphasized the importance of preparing Filipinos for future job opportunities to build a stronger and more prosperous Philippines.
