House Speaker Bojie Dy declared a net worth of P74.019 million in his latest statement of assets, liabilities, and net worth (SALN) submitted in July.
His assets include 12 agricultural properties and four residential lots valued at P32.53 million, along with over P25 million in cash and nearly P30 million in investments, totaling personal assets of around P121 million before liabilities.
Dy also reported business interests in four firms and revealed that 16 of his relatives hold public office, including a nephew who is the Philippine ambassador to Switzerland.
Committed to transparency amid corruption allegations in government, Dy released his SALN to set an example and announced the reconstitution of the House’s SALN Review and Compliance Committee.
Experts, however, caution that some officials may hide assets under relatives’ names, which may explain discrepancies between declared wealth and lifestyle.
