HIGH HEAT ALERT: DANGEROUS LEVELS OF HEAT INDEX LINGER IN PH AREAS!

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration warns that dangerous heat indexes will persist in various parts of the Philippines over the next two days, including areas in the National Capital Region and Regions I, II, CAR, and III.

NAIA Pasay City and Science Garden Quezon City are projected to experience high temperatures, reaching up to 44 degrees Celsius.

Tuguegarao City and Aparri in Cagayan face extreme conditions with temperatures up to 45 and 46 degrees Celsius respectively.

Dagupan City, Pangasinan, faces a critical situation with a forecasted heat index of 47 degrees Celsius.

DepEd extends the suspension of in-person classes until April 30 due to the heatwave and a nationwide transport strike, advising public schools to continue with distance learning.

Activities organized by regional and division offices may proceed, with safety precautions in place. Private schools have the option to follow suit.
