GAME 1 SHOWDOWN: SAN MIGUEL VS. MERALCO – PBA PHILIPPINE CUP FINALS

The San Miguel Beermen and the Meralco Bolts are set to clash in Game 1 of their best-of-seven PBA Philippine Cup finals series on Wednesday, June 5, at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Beermen secured their finals spot by sweeping the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, while the Bolts made franchise history by advancing to the All-Filipino finals for the first time after a seven-game battle with Barangay Ginebra.

Seven-time PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo, who averaged 18.2 points and 13.7 rebounds in the semifinals, leads the Beermen’s quest for a second straight Philippine Cup crown.

Meralco will rely on a team effort with key contributions from big men Raymond Almazan, Cliff Hodge, and rookie Brandon Bates to contain Fajardo, while Chris Newsome and Chris Banchero will drive their offense.

The game tips off at 7:30 pm.
