Free rides on the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) will be available starting today until Thursday due to a technical problem that caused delays in its operations.
Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon confirmed the implementation of the “libreng sakay” (free rides) for the affected days.
In addition to free train rides, buses will also be deployed between Antipolo and Cubao to assist commuters.
The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced that LRT-2 is currently operating under provisional service, running at limited capacity from Recto Station to Araneta Center-Cubao Station.
This measure aims to ease the inconvenience caused by the service disruption.
