EVELIO B. JAVIER AIRPORT SET FOR OCTOBER REOPENING AFTER ₱1.7B UPGRADE

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced that the upgraded passenger terminal of Evelio B. Javier Airport in Antique will be inaugurated and opened for operations by mid-October.

All operational offices will be transferred to the new facility before October 1, with outdated structures slated for demolition ahead of the launch.

The modernization project, which began in 2016, has already extended the runway from 1,200 to 1,700 meters, with plans to reach 1,800 meters under the 2025 budget.

Facilities now include a new terminal building, control tower, and fire station, with a total investment of up to ₱1.7 billion.

Antique Gov. Paolo Javier said the upgrades will enhance tourism and economic growth by improving connectivity to the province.
