The Philippine national esports team, eGilas, is set to compete in the eFIBA World Finals in Jonkoping, Sweden, this weekend. The team earned their spot in the finals by dominating the online Asia qualifiers, defeating opponents from India, Singapore, Mongolia, and Indonesia.

eGilas will face off against teams from the United States, New Zealand, Brazil, France, Morocco, Lebanon, and Turkey in the World Finals. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals and finals, both of which will be best-of-three series.

The Philippine team is led by SBP official Xavier Gubat, manager Richard Brojan, assistant manager Philippe Herrero, and coaches Nieile Alparas and Kristian Cuaresma. The players include Isaiah (Ice) Alindada, Lynard (LCB) Banzon, Kenneth (Clue) Gutierrez, Julian (Social) Malllillin, and Prich (DonPrich) Diez.

eGilas is aiming to bring home the gold medal and make history as the first-ever champions of the eFIBA World Finals.
