The Department of Transportation (DOTr) reminded motorists that the electronic or e-driver’s license (eDL) is a valid form of identification when flagged for traffic violations, in line with Department Order No. 2023-015.
Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez said enforcers must accept the eDL as a substitute for the physical driver’s license, which can be accessed through the LTMS portal or the eGovPH Super App.
He added that motorists who apply for or renew their licenses via the Land Transportation Management System automatically receive an eDL.
Lopez also noted that the availability of the eDL eliminates the need to confiscate physical licenses during apprehensions.
The DOTr further said that payments for the Temporary Operator’s Permit (TOP) can now be done online, as part of the government’s push to digitize transport services.
