Former president Rodrigo Duterte’s legal team has asked the International Criminal Court (ICC) to postpone the September 23 confirmation of charges hearing, citing delays in accessing key information.
The defense intends to raise new issues that could prevent the hearing from proceeding, while victims’ counsel voiced concern over the lack of public access to the charges.
Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte criticized House spokesperson Princess Abante for commenting on the ICC case, insisting the tribunal is “out of her league.”
In a separate development, acting Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte lashed out at PNP Chief Nicolas Torre III for calling for unity among Duterte supporters.
The Vice President also predicted an end to the Marcos political dynasty after 2028 and said she regretted supporting President Marcos in 2022
