The Philippines was recognized as Asia’s Best Retirement Destination at the 11th TripZilla Excellence Awards, highlighting the country’s growing appeal as a haven for retirees.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco said the award reflects international confidence in the Philippines as not only a travel spot but also a long-term home for retirees.
She credited the country’s warm hospitality, caring culture, and welcoming communities as key factors attracting retirees from around the world.
The Department of Tourism continues to work with the Philippine Retirement Authority to improve programs such as the Special Resident Retiree’s Visa and expand services under the “We Care” campaign.
Frasco added that the recognition motivates the DOT to further enhance world-class programs, ensuring the dignity, comfort, and well-being of retirees.
