The Philippines and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to develop a framework for cooperation aimed at improving government competitiveness, including public financial management.
The MOU, signed on February 11 during the World Governments Summit in Dubai, seeks to enhance government performance through collaboration on strengthening capacities, performance measurement, and strategic planning.
It also highlights potential partnerships in public financial management. Philippine Ambassador to UAE Alfonso Ver emphasized that the agreement strengthens bilateral relations and focuses on shaping the future of governments.
In addition to the MOU, the two countries signed legal treaties on extradition, mutual legal assistance, and the transfer of sentenced persons, while also partnering on the restoration of the Pasig River.
