The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has proposed an increased budget of P11.101 billion for 2025, a 35 percent rise from its 2024 allocation of P8.579 billion.
Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III detailed that the budget would allocate P5.048 billion for maintenance and operations, P5.823 billion for personnel services, and P230 million for capital outlay.
The funds are intended to support ongoing land distribution efforts, complete the issuance of condonation certificates, and expedite the implementation of Executive Order 75, which includes land grants for various beneficiaries.
The budget will also aid in resolving agrarian reform cases and enhancing agricultural productivity through modern technologies and private-sector partnerships.
Additionally, Estrella noted that under the new Agrarian Emancipation Act, P57.557 billion in debt had been condoned, benefiting over 600,000 reform beneficiaries and 1.17 million hectares of farmland.
