COMELEC DENIES VOTE TAMPERING AMID COUNT DELAY, BLAMES TECHNICAL LAG

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) assured the public that the delay in the transmission of unofficial election results was due to technical issues at the PPCRV’s end and not because of any system failure or vote manipulation.

Comelec Chairman George Garcia explained that all accredited recipients, including media and watchdogs, access the same data stream, but differences in display speeds are due to varied processing systems.

PPCRV confirmed receiving 97.28% of precinct data and is conducting a manual audit to verify accuracy.

Meanwhile, groups like Namfrel and Kontra Daya raised concerns over transparency and technical issues on election day, while PDP labeled the delay a “breach of public trust.”

Despite this, the administration coalition Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas celebrated the strong showing of its senatorial bets, calling the results a mandate for the continuity of national development programs.
