Kapamilya star Coco Martin revealed he declined offers to star in local remakes of popular Korean dramas, saying he is not a fan of K-dramas and prefers projects with Filipino themes.
During the announcement of his partnership with filmmaker Erik Matti and producer Dondon Monteverde, Coco emphasized his desire to promote original Filipino stories instead of adapting foreign ones.
He expressed pride in Filipino talent and stressed the importance of creating works that Filipinos can truly claim as their own.
Coco also shared his excitement about playing Andres Bonifacio in an upcoming 2027 film and praised the success of the historical movie “Quezon.”
He urged Filipinos, especially the youth, to remember and learn about their history and heroes amid current political challenges.
