The House of Representatives will begin plenary debates on the proposed P6.352-trillion national budget for 2025 on September 16, with sessions starting at 10 a.m.
House Speaker Martin Romualdez stated that the budget supports President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Agenda for Prosperity and Bagong Pilipinas programs, aiming to aid the poor through social protection and lower food prices.
The budget will also focus on increasing agricultural productivity, expanding infrastructure, and supporting education.
Deliberations will cover various government departments and agencies over the week, with discussions on key sectors such as finance, justice, and health scheduled.
The House Committee on Appropriations finalized the budget bill last week, with debates expected to continue through September 23.
