A cooperative composed of active and retired military personnel has expanded into the aviation sector with the acquisition of a Cessna 408 SkyCourier aircraft, the first of its kind in the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific region.
The aircraft was acquired by ACDI Multipurpose Cooperative through its subsidiary, Leading Edge Air Services Corporation (LEASCOR), and arrived at Clark Airport in Pampanga after a nearly 10-day journey from the United States.
ACDI MPC said the 19-seat twin-engine turboprop aircraft can be quickly configured for both passenger and cargo operations, making it suitable for logistics, humanitarian missions, disaster response, and inter-island transport.
The cooperative highlighted the aircraft’s ability to operate on shorter and less-developed runways, allowing access to remote and underserved communities across the archipelago.
ACDI MPC Chairman, retired Maj. Gen. Gilbert S. Llanto said the move reflects the cooperative’s expansion into strategic industries that support economic growth, connectivity, job creation, and countryside development.
