Edward “Edward” Dapadap led Aurora Gaming PH to a thrilling 2-1 victory over Team Liquid, securing a spot in the upper bracket semifinals of the M7 World Championship in Jakarta on Sunday, Jan. 18.
The veteran EXP laner’s perfectly timed engage on Yu Zhong during the crucial Lord clash set up Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto to steal the objective and wipe out Team Liquid.
In the decisive Game 3, Edward disrupted Team Liquid’s backline, taking out key players Karl “Karltzy” Nepomuceno and Alston “Sanji” Pabico, helping extend Aurora’s M7 winning streak to four matches.
Aurora’s win snapped a two-game losing skid against TLPH, who had previously beaten them in the MPL Philippines Season 16 grand finals and the M7 Swiss stage opener.
With contributions from Dylan “Light” Catipon and Domengkite, Aurora overcame Team Liquid’s strong Game 2 comeback and advanced, while Team Liquid was sent to the lower bracket.
