29 POGO WORKERS FROM CAVITE TO FACE DEPORTATION PROCEEDINGS

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has begun deportation proceedings against 29 foreign nationals arrested for operating an illegal online gaming facility in Cavite.

The group, consisting of 23 Chinese nationals and six Myanmar nationals, was apprehended during a raid on a private resort in Silang town.

BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado stated that the workers will face immigration violations, leading to deportation and blacklisting, preventing re-entry into the country.

The bureau is also investigating the resort’s renters for possibly harboring illegal aliens, which could result in legal action.

The raid was initially part of an operation to capture a Chinese fugitive, who was not present at the time of the operation.
