President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. received the 2026 National Expenditure Program (NEP) during a ceremony at Malacañan Palace on Tuesday.
The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah Pangandaman formally handed over the proposed PHP6.793-trillion budget, the highest in Philippine history, to the President.
Marcos expressed approval of both the English and Filipino versions of the President’s Budget Message, with assurances that the public will have access to it for transparency.
The 2026 NEP, themed “Agenda for Prosperity: Nurturing Future-Ready Generations,” will be transmitted to Congress on Thursday as the basis for the General Appropriations Bill.
The budget aligns with the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028 and prioritizes programs in education, infrastructure, digitalization, health, and social services.
