20 ACCUSED OF GRAFT IN POGO LAND CASE, NBI SEEKS PROSECUTION

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has recommended the prosecution of 14 public officials and six private citizens, including a landowner, for alleged graft and document falsification related to land transactions with a Philippine offshore gaming operator (Pogo) in Porac, Pampanga.

The case involves allegations that Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) officials concealed farmers’ titles and illegally transferred lands to buyers without proper clearance, ultimately allowing a Pogo company to build on the land.

The complaint, initiated by land reform beneficiary Ronnie Dungca, accuses officials of violating anti-graft laws and ethical standards.

NBI’s investigation revealed forged signatures on property documents and other irregularities in the transaction process.

The Pogo site was shut down by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) in June over allegations of criminal activities.
