150 FILIPINOS DISPLACED BY LA WILDFIRES, CONSULATE OFFERS AID

The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles reported that around 150 Filipinos have been displaced by the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires.

Consul General Adelio Angelito Cruz said many of the affected are staying in evacuation centers, with authorities assisting in securing long-term housing.

Some Filipinos are undocumented or have minimal insurance, complicating their recovery efforts.

The consulate, authorized by the Department of Foreign Affairs, is providing $200 in emergency assistance to those in need.

Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 24, with more than a dozen people still missing as wildfires continue to sweep through Southern California.
