Ten Filipino crew members of the MV Minervagracht were safely repatriated after the vessel was attacked by Houthi rebels in the Gulf of Aden on September 29.
They arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport on October 4, where Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Cacdac personally welcomed them and assured government support.
The Filipino seafarers received financial aid, health services, and training vouchers from various government agencies.
Their repatriation was facilitated through coordination between the Philippine Embassy in Ankara, the Consulate General in Istanbul, and local partners.
The vessel, carrying a multinational crew, caught fire after being struck by an unidentified projectile southeast of Yemen.
