VICE GANDA SLAMS CORRUPTION AT TRILLION PESO MARCH, CITES TAXPAYER BURDEN

Vice Ganda’s fiery speech at the Trillion Peso March on EDSA resonated strongly as he condemned corruption, highlighting that his anger comes from being one of the country’s top taxpayers.

The comedian, consistently listed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue among the highest taxpayers in 2023 and 2024, called on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to jail plunderers and even pushed for the revival of the death penalty for graft convicts.

His remarks drew cheers from the massive crowd as he lamented how his millions in taxes were allegedly pocketed by corrupt officials.

Vice, whose earnings span television, endorsements, and blockbuster films, previously hinted at frustration on social media, suggesting a tax holiday until officials prove accountability.

Other celebrities on the 2024 top taxpayers list included Kim Chiu, Darren Espanto, Dingdong Dantes, Julia Barretto, Catriona Gray, Dennis Trillo, and Jennylyn Mercado, with some also joining the protests.
