Valenzuela City Mayor Weslie Gatchalian has reminded both private and public hospitals in the city to uphold patient rights and adhere to legal standards.
This statement follows a settlement between ACE Medical Center and four patients who had previously filed complaints against the hospital for alleged illegal detention and coercion.
The patients received financial assistance of one million pesos each, leading them to withdraw their complaints.
Mayor Gatchalian emphasized that hospitals must respect the rights of patients and their families, warning of potential consequences for non-compliance.
This reminder underscores the city’s commitment to protecting patient rights and ensuring ethical practices within healthcare facilities.
