US AND IRAN FAIL TO REACH AGREEMENT AFTER TALKS

The United States and Iran failed to reach an agreement after 21 hours of talks in Islamabad, with US Vice President JD Vance saying Washington delivered its “final and best offer” and still seeking Iran’s commitment not to develop nuclear weapons.

Iran, however, rejected the proposal, with state media calling US demands “unreasonable,” while both sides remained divided over key issues including sanctions relief and the Strait of Hormuz.

Pakistan, which hosted the talks, said it would continue facilitating dialogue and urged both sides to maintain the ceasefire.

Tensions remain high as the broader Middle East conflict continues, involving Israel and regional escalation that has disrupted global markets.

Despite the breakdown, both sides signaled a willingness to keep negotiations open, though major gaps remain unresolved.
