President Donald Trump said US operations in Iran could end within two to three weeks, adding that a formal deal with Tehran is not required for withdrawal.
He claimed that US forces have “finished the hard part” and will leave once Iran is sufficiently weakened to prevent nuclear development.
Trump criticized allies for not helping secure the Strait of Hormuz and urged them to “get your own oil” amid ongoing disruptions to tanker traffic.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth called the coming days “decisive” and hinted that ground forces could still play a role in the conflict.
Trump and Hegseth emphasized that US troops are continuing operations while maintaining operational security in the region.
