TRUMP SEEKS SUPREME COURT DELAY ON TIKTOK BAN IMPLEMENTATION

President-elect Donald Trump has requested the U.S. Supreme Court to delay the enforcement of a law that would ban TikTok in the United States, set to take effect on January 19, 2025.

Trump argues that his incoming administration should have the opportunity to address national security concerns related to TikTok’s Chinese ownership through negotiations rather than an outright ban.

The law, signed by President Biden, mandates that TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, divest from the app or face prohibition due to data security fears.

TikTok has challenged the law, claiming it infringes on First Amendment rights.

The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear arguments on this case on January 10, 2025.
