Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III was relieved from his post just three months after assuming office, Malacañang confirmed Tuesday.
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin issued the order, directing Torre to immediately turn over all matters and documents related to his office.
The Palace document, dated August 25, did not specify the reason for his relief. Torre, who became PNP chief on June 2, succeeded Gen. Rommel Marbil.
His short tenure included leading high-profile operations, such as the arrest of preacher Apollo Quiboloy and former President Rodrigo Duterte.
