South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and First Lady Kim Hee Keon will visit the Philippines on March 3 for a two-day state visit, the Palace announced.
They were invited by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and will be received at Malacañan Palace on the first day.
This marks President Lee’s first visit to the Philippines and the first state visit since the Philippines-South Korea Free Trade Agreement took effect in December 2024.
During the visit, Marcos and Lee will hold a bilateral meeting to discuss defense, maritime economy, development cooperation, and regional and international issues.
The visit also coincides with the 77th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and follows a prior meeting between the leaders at the 2025 APEC Summit in Gyeongju.
