Residents of eight fledgling Moro towns in the Special Geographic Area (SGA) have welcomed the continued partnership between the Cotabato provincial government and the Bangsamoro health ministry in delivering essential services.
BARMM Health Minister Kadil Sinolinding Jr. and Cotabato Gov. Emmylou Talino-Mendoza recently agreed to sustain cooperation in providing medical care and other basic services to the SGA communities, which fall under the Bangsamoro government but are geographically within Cotabato.
Local leaders said the provincial government has consistently extended health, social welfare, and even food assistance, despite the areas no longer being under its jurisdiction.
The Cotabato government also supports peace and order efforts by assisting police and military units operating in the SGA.
Sinolinding added that funds are allocated to private hospitals in Cotabato to help cover the medical expenses of marginalized Moro patients from the eight new towns.
