The third edition of the Shakey’s Super League (SSL) Collegiate Pre-season Championship is set to begin on Friday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, featuring 18 participating teams.
Among the competitors are two-time champion National University, alongside returning teams University of the Philippines and De La Salle University, fulfilling the goal of including teams from the NCAA and UAAP.
The teams are divided into four pools, with matches structured to allow the top two from each pool to advance to the next round, where they will carry over their earned points.
The tournament will include a unique all-to-play format to provide all rostered players with ample playing time and a video challenge system for reviewing calls.
Opening day matches include San Sebastian facing FEU and Lyceum taking on UE, with games broadcast live on various platforms.
