Vice President Sara Duterte’s defense team has filed its comment opposing the House of Representatives’ motion asking the Supreme Court to reconsider its ruling junking her impeachment.
Defense spokesman Michael Wesley Poa confirmed the filing but declined to provide details, citing respect for the Court and the sub judice rule.
The Supreme Court voided the impeachment articles, declaring them unconstitutional for violating the one-impeachment-per-year rule.
Meanwhile, Duterte traveled to Paris to meet with the Filipino community before proceeding to The Hague, where her father faces trial for crimes against humanity.
The Office of the Vice President stressed that her trips are personally funded and that she continues to oversee her office’s operations remotely.
