Vice President Sara Duterte composed a protest song titled “Mga Sakim, Durugin Na” as a special message for President Marcos’ 68th birthday on September 13, calling for an end to greed and abuses in government.
Although she worked on the song for over two weeks, she completed it after Marcos’ birthday and performed it at a Filipino community rally in Tokyo on September 20.
The song’s lyrics highlight the struggles of Filipinos and urge them to fight against corruption and oppression.
Duterte also criticized Marcos in her speech, accusing him of continuously scamming the Filipino people.
The rallies coincide with the anniversary of Martial Law and ongoing nationwide protests demanding accountability.
