Wholesale prices of building materials in Metro Manila posted steady growth in December 2025, with the Construction Materials Wholesale Price Index (CMWPI) rising 0.8 percent from the previous month, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported.
This was higher than the 0.2-percent growth recorded in December 2024, with notable increases in sand and gravel, painting works, and plywood.
Some materials, including concrete products, lumber, and G.I. sheets, recorded slower price increases, while cement, glass, hardware, and doors saw price declines.
Commodity groups such as reinforcing steel, plumbing fixtures, fuels, and machinery rentals showed zero growth or retained previous month’s rates.
Overall, the average CMWPI growth in 2025 slowed to 0.1 percent from 0.6 percent in 2024 due to declining rates in more than half of the commodity groups.
