San Miguel Corporation (SMC) is waiving tolls on its expressways for government vehicles involved in relief and recovery operations following Typhoon Uwan, in line with President Marcos’ directive to ensure the smooth movement of responders.
SMC CEO Ramon Ang said the company is coordinating with the Department of Transportation and the Toll Regulatory Board to implement the toll-free policy.
The move covers over 200 kilometers of expressways in Luzon, including the Skyway System, SLEX, STAR Tollway, TPLEX, and NAIA Expressway.
Ahead of the typhoon, SMC deployed maintenance crews and emergency teams to secure expressways and ensure safe passage for vehicles.
The company urged motorists to follow traffic rules and exercise caution during inclement weather, noting its history of similar support during the COVID-19 pandemic.
