ROSE LIN, HERNANDEZ COUPLE FACE DISQUALIFICATION AMID COMELEC PROBE OF 213 CANDIDATES

Disqualification complaints have been filed with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) against congressional aspirant Rose Nono Lin of Quezon City and Laguna’s Gov. Ramil Hernandez and Rep. Ruth Hernandez over alleged vote-buying and misuse of government resources.

Two petitions accuse Lin of campaigning on Maundy Thursday by distributing refreshments and directly soliciting votes near Nova Plaza Mall in Novaliches, violating the Omnibus Election Code.

A second complaint claimed Lin’s supporters gave out rice, cash, and campaign materials across multiple events during the campaign period.

Lin, who previously faced scrutiny for her ties to Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp., is running again for Quezon City’s 5th congressional district.

In Laguna, private complainant Celito Baron alleged that the Hernandez couple, switching elective positions, gave away cash, food, T-shirts, and government health cards to sway voters during a poll watchers’ orientation.

The petitions come as the Comelec is also investigating 213 other candidates nationwide for possible election law violations.

Comelec officials emphasized that such complaints are being reviewed to ensure accountability and preserve the integrity of the 2025 elections.
