QUEZON MEGA FOOD HUB TO BOOST FARMERS’ MARKET ACCESS, LOWER FOOD PRICES

The Department of Agriculture (DA) and Food Terminal Inc. (FTI) have partnered to develop the Tiaong Mega Food Hub in Quezon to help farmers market their produce and improve food distribution.

The facility will provide shared production, storage, packaging, and marketing services, connecting farmers to consumers in Quezon and nearby provinces.

It will also offer research, food safety, and modern farming facilities to support agricultural production.

The project is part of the government’s plan to establish five mega food hubs nationwide to reduce post-harvest losses and lower food costs.

The initiative also aims to strengthen food supply and help the agriculture sector prepare for the possible effects of Super El Niño.
