QC GOVERNMENT EVACUATES THOUSANDS FROM FLOOD-PRONE NEIGHBORHOODS

The Quezon City government has preemptively evacuated 1,780 families (6,038 individuals) from flood-prone barangays ahead of Typhoon Opong. 

Evacuation centers were set up in areas at risk of flooding and landslides to ensure residents’ safety. 

The city’s Department of Engineering also conducted drainage clearing operations to prevent flooding from heavy rains. 

Officials assured the public that these measures would help keep roads and communities safe during the typhoon season.

Residents are advised to call Quezon City HELPLINE 122 for emergencies.
