PUBLIC OUTCRY AND SAFETY FEARS MOUNT IN CHINA OVER CONTAMINATED COOKING OIL

A scandal in China involving contaminated cooking oil has sparked global concern over food safety. 

Reports reveal tankers transporting fuel and cooking oil without proper cleaning may pose serious health risks. 

Sinograin and Hopefull Grain and Oil Group are implicated in the controversy. Responding swiftly, the Chinese government has formed a team to investigate and enforce food safety regulations rigorously. 

Concerns extend internationally, with authorities in the Philippines, including the DTI and FDA, being notified to monitor and safeguard Filipino consumers against potential risks from imported cooking oil.
