A recent survey by Social Weather Stations (SWS) revealed that practicality reigns supreme for many Filipinos celebrating Valentine’s Day.
Money topped the list of desired gifts, with 16% of respondents wishing for it. Love and companionship came in second at 11%, followed by flowers (10%).
Interestingly, men and women differed in their preferences. Apparel was the top choice for men (14%), while women preferred money (19%). Flowers were slightly more popular with women (13%) compared to men (7%). However, both genders equally valued love and companionship (11% each).
The survey also showed that 58% of Filipinos are “very happy” with their love lives, while 23% believe they “could be happier.”
The number of Filipinos with no love life has seen a gradual increase, reaching 19% in this survey.
This SWS poll, conducted with 1,200 respondents and a margin of error of +/- 2.8%, suggests Filipinos prioritize practicality and value love in their Valentine’s Day celebrations
