After an explosion at a makeshift firecracker factory in Dagupan City, Pangasinan killed two people, the PNP vowed to step up operations against illegal firecracker manufacturers ahead of New Year’s Eve.
Acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. called the incident a warning about the deadly risks of illegal firecracker production.
He emphasized that such activities not only break the law but also endanger innocent lives.
The PNP has launched an investigation to identify those responsible for the factory.
Authorities warned the public to comply with regulations to prevent similar tragedies.
