PHILIPPINE, JAPANESE, US AND CANADIAN NAVIES CONDUCT JOINT SAIL

Naval forces from the Philippines, Japan, the United States, and Canada conducted a joint sail in the South China Sea, demonstrating their commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific.

The Multilateral Maritime Cooperative Activity (MCA) included Japan’s JS Kirisame, Canada’s HMCS Montreal, the US’s USS Ralph Johnson, and the Philippines’ BRP Andres Bonifacio.

Japan emphasized its dedication to upholding freedom of navigation and the rule of law. The exercise follows joint drills in April involving the Philippines, US, Japan, and Australia, despite China’s objections.

Philippine Army chief Lt. Gen. Roy Galido urged the Armor Division to maintain defense assets during its anniversary celebration.
