The Philippines’ cosmetics industry is projected to grow by 10 percent this year, continuing the same pace as last year, driven by rising consumer demand for skin care and sun protection products.
Christine Michelle Reyes, president of the Chamber of Cosmetics Industry of the Philippines (CCIP), attributed growth to lifestyle changes, easing inflation, and expanding middle-income groups, especially in urban and provincial areas.
The industry is innovating with products integrating SPF, responding to increasing awareness and the country’s intense heat.
Despite regulatory challenges, the CCIP is working with the government to ensure compliance and product improvement.
Trade Secretary Cristina Roque highlighted government support programs and the potential for coconut-based personal care products to expand in global markets.
