The Philippine Navy will escort the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in setting up additional marine scientific research stations in the West Philippine Sea (WPS).
These stations planned for Recto Bank, Rizal Reef, and Pag-asa Island, aim to enhance marine biodiversity conservation and strengthen national security.
Navy spokesman Rear Adm. Roy Vincent Trinidad affirmed the Navy’s readiness to provide support when needed.
Meanwhile, the Atin Ito coalition is launching its third civilian-led mission, featuring a “Peace and Solidarity Sea Concert” to promote regional unity.
The Navy assured security for both government and civil society efforts in the WPS.
