PH CRIME VOLUME SLASHED BY 26% IN JANUARY

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has reported a significant decline in crime incidence in the country, with a decrease of at least 26% in January.

Data from the PNP revealed that there were 2,301 cases of eight focus crimes recorded from January 1 to 30. This figure is notably lower compared to the 3,223 incidents reported during the same period in 2023, representing a decline of 26.81%.

The focus crimes include murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, theft, robbery, car theft, and motorcycle theft.

The PNP’s chief publicist, Col. Jean Fajardo, expressed that this decrease in crime volume serves as an inspiration for the PNP, highlighting the continuous drop in crime rates.

Fajardo also commended the public for their cooperation, which has contributed to the improving peace and order situation in the country.
