PH, CHINA FORGE ALLIANCE TO TACKLE POGO-RELATED CRIMES

The governments of the Philippines and China have agreed to collaborate in combating crimes linked to Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs), according to the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC). 

This decision follows a meeting between Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian and Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin. China expressed gratitude for the Philippine law enforcement’s efforts in countering illegal offshore gambling and rescuing Chinese nationals involved. 

The PAOCC highlighted the ongoing cooperation and open communication between the Chinese Embassy and Philippine authorities, emphasizing their commitment to curbing transnational organized crime. 

Recent collaborative raids on POGOs resulted in significant arrests and rescues, demonstrating the effectiveness of this strengthened bilateral cooperation.
