Akbayan partylist and several civic groups have formally requested the Office of the Ombudsman to release the Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALNs) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Vice President Sara Duterte, and officials from the Comelec, COA, and CSC, as well as former Ombudsman Samuel Martires.
The request cites Memorandum Circular No. 3, series 2025, which allows public access to SALNs without the declarant’s authorization.
The groups said the move is aimed at promoting transparency and accountability in government.
Officials named in the request include key commissioners from the COA, Comelec, and CSC.
Comelec Chairman George Garcia responded that their SALNs are already accessible through the agency’s Freedom of Information manual.
